What about fire elemental? Can Haelyn priest call it? It can provide light as well as fire attack (provided it doesn't set forest afire with its mere existence). I think Nesirie's priests can call water elementals, but they wouldn't be particularly useful

Haelyn has no power over fire...that would be Laerme that has inherited the fire portfolio from her mother Avanalae (who got it from Basaïa).

...and yes, they would turn the forest into a blazing inferno...even more than oil-throwing will

Can I just say I find it amusing the different ways that the Governor and the Pontiff attempted to inspire the men.

I was allready making Wallacs speach when you posted the Governors. I finished Wallacs speach with a few changes trying emphasize the different approaches taken by these two.

Two very different men. Yet the Pontiff has gained a solid amount of respect for the Governor who he has not met before this little quest; they may differ a lot in their perception of the world but Wallac realize the different approach certainly hold some merrit as well. He is afterall priest to a god of among other stuff, martial might. Soldiering is not unknown to Wallac and the Baron of Roesone is also quite colorfull

Shauna also has one interesting piece of information; the spirits won't leave the forests of Mieres. So should you go south, you would be safe from them.

I assume the last one is what is true right now (possible changing allready). Thus traveling south has again become a viable solution

Weren't many Masela temples converted to temples of Nesirie?  Perhaps that temple can act as a 'foci' to the ETN temple on the other side?
