War move 4:

The Governor has word from Serien that gnolls are on the move, having been seen in some number in Dhalier.

WM 6:

The army of Mieres start assembling in Lathier.

There is talk of a Serien army currently in Crenier.

Further west the small, but growing, 'army' of Ser Federén Cerien makes ready to go to war.

The Mierean galley fleet - the real one - puts out to sea - destination unknown.

WM 7:

The Mieran army has finished assembling in Lathier.

The Serien army is said to be encamped in Crenier.

A gnoll army has passed through Dhalier and entered Serien - the Barony is once again under siege.

What is the status of Cerien army?

What is the status of Cerien army?

They are camped with your army. One unit of lancers and two of archers (green). And Ser Cerien is there as well, commanding them.

Then the Mierean army will move into Serien from Lathier.  Try and use Captain Oeberon (Merc Scouts) to scout out the enemy positions and try and move into position such as to pinch the Gnolls between the Mierean army and Serien's castle walls if they are currently besieging the Caer.

I believe that should include;

General Vandross
1 Armsmen (elite)
2 Regulars, mounted (Veteran)
2 Regulars, non-mounted (Skilled)
2 Crossbowmen (Skilled)
2 Mercenary Archers
1 Mercenary Scout (Captain Oeberon)

Ser Cerien
1 Lancer (?)
2 Archers (Green)

Scouts (Veteran) which are in Lathier will remain their with the levies with orders to try and scout out the Serien army and warn of treachery.

OOC: This is so cool - and provincial - that army, a potent force in Mieres, would hardly qualify as a detachment in one of the big Anuirean wars...

WM 8

The forces of Mieres have won a major victory in the province of Serien. Details are scarce, but they say that the brave men of the GOvernor's Guard, led by the goodman Kirr, moved to relive be besieged Harald Serien in the baronial capital...only to find themselves badly outnumbered and surrounded.

Only it turned out to be a clever trick - the very land is said to have turned aginst the gnolls, and at the battle hung in the balance Count Gaerelen Charen arrived at the head of the proud banners of the Seven Houses and put the fear of Haelyn into the gnolls.

The gnolls broke down into individual warbands and continued fighting until nightfall, but surrounded as they were by two armies they suffered horrendous casualties.

What are the status of the armies in Serien now?  Did the Gnoll survivors flee to Dhalier or elsewhere?

Your own army is rather battered, but the Serien army is somewhat better of. The gnolls have been utterly crushed (i.e. there will always be survivors, but not as army units).

General Vandross
1 Armsmen (elite), 2 HITS
1 Regulars, mounted (Veteran), 3 HITS
1 Regulars, mounted (Veteran), 3 HITS
1 Regulars, non-mounted (Skilled), NO HITS
1 Regulars, non-mounted (Skilled), 4 HITS DESTROYED
1 Crossbowmen (Skilled), NO HITS
1 Crossbowmen (Skilled), 1 HITS
1 Mercenary Archers, 2 HITS
1 Mercenary Archers, 2 HITS
1 Mercenary Scout (Captain Oeberon) Not present in Serien

Ser Cerien
1 Lancer (?), 2 HITS
1 Archers (Green), 1 HITS
1 Archers (Green), 1 HITS

Serien
1 Scouts
1 Knights
1 Armsmen
2 Skirmishers
2 Regulars
2 Archers
6 Militia

Since I've received no further orders I assume that this more or less concludes this turn's war moves in Mieres.

Let me know ASAP ZULU if you're sending units further south (for example).

My army is going to hang out in Serien given its status.

If Count Charen wants to send some of his units south to secure the borders he's more than welcome to...

Maybe a few; but undestandably he's more concerned with keeping an eye on Harald Serien...and Kirr...

As to be expected.   ::)

Kirr will stick around and spend what time is left with a hefty honor guard of soldiers touring the capital province to see what damage was done and what aid can be given to the commoners.   ;D

In WM 10 the Governor has a dispatch from Kirr - the people of the baronial capital have thrown open the gates and greeted him and Count Charen as heroes, but Harald refuses to allow them entry into the citadel.
