Eh.. no, those would be exempted from that rule.

Ouch.  Percentages just dropped significantly.  If Rhuobhe's realm magic isn't even being slowed, I vote for retreat and the preservation of the army until such time as we have more casters available.

I hoped for her to slow him down some.  The forces we have here aren't a military threat; they're a large shell of ablative meatshields, intended mostly to keep Braedonnal from getting shot until he can reach Rhuobhe.  The fundamental question regarding the clash between Hermedhie and Rhuobhe was never "can she stop him", it was "how quickly will our meat be ablated?"  The answer, sadly, looks like it's going to be "remarkably quickly."

Seems to me that our "grace period" wasn't to stop players from pestering each other. It was actually intended to avoid the DM killing off all the players at the start

What you can hope is that he expended a lot of RP to make that spell stick, leaving him with less to power later spells. And logic dictates he must have used some of his pool in the previous turns as well, so it might actually be more important that it looks. But, yes, it was a short-lived protection spell. Cast and failed, all in the span of a few days :-P

I've been hammering Caelwode with scrying spells the last few turns too, so I'm hoping I have had some effect on his RP pool

Undoubtedly. But he has a rather high BS, and surely he has save up a pretty pool before starting on this endeavor.

I would have thought that way to go against a strong caster who has limited military forces is to use waves to attack.

Send in just enough troops to be able to overwhelm his forces but not your entire army.

Force him to use realm magic to defend.

Retreat and regroup the units and send the next wave in.

Rinse and repeat until either he runs out of spells or you run out of troops.
