Intervening Years

*Reads last line of updated campaign history*

*Jaw drops*

Well, I think we can safely say that Alan and Dimitris will be wanting some details of the time in between the end of the old game and the start of the new one....

I suppose that means that relations between Osoerde could be better. :)

It makes sense from the standpoint of Osoer -- but I am definitely going to need more color on it from Bjorn and Jon.

It doesn't seem to jive very well with the timeline.  At that point in time, 1534 HC, Martin would have likely been pontiff.  Particularly, if it is still 2 year revolving pontificate. Which means that Osoer would have arrested and execute the Pontiff.

I sense a disturbance in the otherwise merry and happy Osoerde-IHH/ETN relationship  ;D

The IHH assumed the Pontificate after the Conclave of 1534 HC - meaning the autumn turn was their first (turn 59) - and will hand it to the next temple in 1536. So yes, it would appear the good Archduke, in the winter of 1534 HC (turn 60), captured, imprisoned and then executed Pontiff Royce...how could he do such a thing!?

It's ok - Royce probably told him to do it.

What?  It's happened before.  Seriously.  The man practically had a fetish about self-sacrifice.

I kinda liked Martin (surprisingly a lot more than Hubaere).

My, my, my.  That definitely colors things in a different light and explains to me why I'm Wallac all in one stroke (literally!).    I'm very curious to know more about the actual seizure of the High Prefect;  I can't imagine his men would have let him go into custody lightly.

In any event...  I'm bringing all of my Curse and Blight spells online.  We're at Defcon 3 here, people.

I swear the moment I said I would come back and wanted to play RoEII the little wheels on Bjorn's brain started rolling. :)

This is fantastic and is going to be a lot of fun... :)

I do have a question.

Quote from: Status Report Turn 52, Fall 1532HC
Impregnable Heart of Haelyn
(High) Prefect Martin Royce has fallen in defeating a creature of the Shadow, and sadness grips the Impregnable Heart of Haelyn.  What is more troubling are accusations that his death is the result of the cowardess of the Archduke, who refused to aid against a creature of the Shadow.

Quote from: Chapter 3 – Turns 41-60 (1530HC-1544HC)
1534    High Prefect Royce is seized by Osoer’s men and thrown in prison; he is executed shortly thereafter.

Is Status Report #52 not accurate, or more precisely should I stop pouring over them for background? Or are both accurate and something happened (though I would assume we would have taken notice of IHH dying then coming back)?

The Status Reports of the Old Game have nothing to do with the New Game - they help provide background, but that's it.
