Use of Advisor

I have the impression I can do one use of advisor per season as free action. If I use more than one advisor what will it cost ?
1 court action each for each use of an advisor?
1 GB for each use of an advisor?
or both?

This would be a special case CoT rule. Something along the lines that "the Pontiff gains the use of one free advisor action each season, the advice can only come from the reps of the thirteen temples".
 This hasn't really been fleshed out or decided upon...

Thx for enlighten me regarding the special CoT situation.

How does it work regularly? Again the question will be:

I have the impression I can do one use of advisor per season as free action. If I use more than one advisor what will it cost ?
1 court action each for each use of an advisor?
1 GB for each use of an advisor?

Actually... Disregard my last comment! Got confused there for a moment. I'm still working with regent guide 3.less than 5 as my pov. Therein advisor was a character action only.

 You get a free advisor action each turn, no matter who you are. The Pontiff may get more. All additional uses of advisor is a court action.

 Remember also that advisor counts as 1 action for the character doing it.

Meaning the advisor spent one of his maximum of 3 actions or that somebody have to spend an action asking the advisor the question?

Meaning question number 2+ use 1 court action each but cost no gold (though the court itself ofcause cost gold)?

Advisers don't get character actions.  They can only "advise" per the action, or have bonus administrator actions (at a -2 penalty) if assigned to an administrator post.  So they can't go an adventures for example.  The 3 action rule applies, as usual.

I think that advisers just use the 'ply trade - administrate' action to try to reduce domain costs, provide information on their area of expertise, or go on adventures (P68) - I don't think  they actually cost anything.

OK. Let me try...

Advisors: Character with some form of special knowledge, who are willing to divulge their knowledge upon you using the Advisor Action (Free/Court).

All regents get 1 Advisor Action as a Free Action,o
once per turn. Any other Advisor Actions use a court action.

Hirelings: Use Ply-Trade Actions.  They typically act as administrators, or some other special skill.

Conceptually, Hirelings are nearly always a part of your domain structure somehow; they have knowledge about your domain and can act in limited ways on your behalf, think if you had a lawyer or a family accountant.

An advisor though, need not be, and can be thought almost like you calling a friend and asking their opinion.

1 Court Action Ony.  The action does not have a base cost.

Typically the Advisor action has a limited scope. Think: Who were the ruling kings and queens of England? NOT: Who were the ruling kings and queens of Europe.

Additionally, each advisor has a core set of knowledges that they know, go outside of this and you are subject to all mannor of mishaps.  In other words, you wouldn't ask a physicist about neolithic anthropology.

Read page 29-31 of the Regent guide. It contains a clear description of each type of able assistants (advisors, hirelings, followers, henchmen, lieutenants) and how they can help you out.

 Note that granting positions give your aa's the ability to conduct additional actions on your behalf (see the grant action for a description).

Hmm, the Conclave benefit would however give you lots of potentials - so the HA adviser might know nothing about an obscure doctrinal point (try OIT) but be fine for discussing details of battles with elves, the MOC adviser provide chapter and verse on battle tactics vs goblins, the ETN adviser know a lot about shipping routes, etc.

So the free advisor (i.e. ask the DM for some in game info) bit the Pontiff gets a big advantage as they likely have an adviser with a focus on pretty much anything they might be interested in - one of the temples will have the right specialist.
