#71 Bindier - Defense against the Shadow

As agreed in the Imperial City, the Brosen court sends out invitations to all landed nobles, temples and all other people of importance. That they may send a representative to Bindier to listen and speak with Princess Aubrae Avan, whom have promised to  present a thorough concept for our common defense against the Shadow.

It is the hope of Duke Mierelen of Brosengae, that these talks will result in a common front against all threats from the Shadow.

Laela Flaertes, by Grace of Haelyn Duchess of Tuornen, heeds Your call. The Duchess will share the gains of Her long and successful war against the spawn of the Shadow.
Emissary Lauriel Anviraele will attend with the esteemed Shadewise Pervince Millbridge Silversleep.

[X-Avanil/Aubrae Avan (Thorsten)]

The Princess of Avanil intends, of course, to be present alongside a larger retinue in order to speak at this summit, and lets it be known that she urges everyone to attend in person or send someone who can speak on their behalf.

Born out of Alamian ideas and backed by Avanese ingenuity, surely an initiative against the shadow is a step in the right direction for Anuire.

[X-Ghieste & HOT/GH (Matt)]

His Grace, Duke Ghorien Hriele, will of course attend, accompanying the Princess of Avanil and those of her retinue to the summit, with a retinue of his own. Ghieste fully supports this initiative and hence the presence of the Duke himself to ensure that decisions are made and actions are taken when so often waffle and bluster are what might result in too many cases.

The Sea Witch attends, appearing one morn when her slender white tower materialises unannounced upon the coastline.  Wrapped up tightly in a warm grey cloak, she doesn't pause to speak with anyone as she rides into the city on the back of a large, bare-chested centaur.

The Governor sends word that he will not be in attendance and nor will he be sending a representative in his place.

Word arrives from the east that a high-ranking member of the Wardens of the Erebannien, an organization that has been important part of the demise of powerful abominations such as the Werewolf, the Lich and Rhoubhe the Manslayer, will be attending as representative of the Kingdom of Aerenwe.

A letter arrives from Seasedge,

"We, Ulric Boer, by the Grace of Haelyn Archduke of Boeruine, Prince of Anuire, Duke of Taeghas, Margrave of Talinie, Thane of the Western Isles, Count of Seasedge, Naeane etc., herewith" confirm our arrival and participation in a joint discussion regarding the threat from Shadow. We, however, vehemently deny any claims to precedence in this meeting of her Grace, Aubrae, Duchess of Avanil.

A letter is penned and sent in reply to this late development, once rumor about it spreads.

"Let it be said, that it is not the intent of Avanil to bring the northern conflict to this meeting, nor reopen hostilities while guests at another court. We have only the noblest of intentions.

As such, instead of forcing the young Duke of Brosengae to favor one guest over another, which will likely only result in insult and sorrow, it is the wish of Princess Aubrae of Avanil, that precedence indeed be given to the Archduke, as he so insists. The Princess shall gladly take a backseat during these talks if need be. For her, the question of Anuire's defense against the Shadow takes the ultimate precedence in the end.

Osoerde sends gracious words of regret that none from House Osoer shall be in attendence. Instead, the Archduke shall see Her Excellency, Countess Vanadaere, represent Osoerdean interests.

A dispatch reaches the Brosen court stating that Count Traese Noelon will represent Roesone in the ongoing talks.

"We, Carilon Alam, by the Grace of Haelyn Duke of Alamie, will attend at the meeting."

this simple message is sent to every court involved.

[X-Mhoried/Constantine Mhor (Wiktor)]

A dispatch from Mhoried reaches the Brosen court stating that regretfully his Grace Constantine Mhor is occupied in the Morcosoer campaign; however, the Mhoried will be represented by the Hon. Michael Maricoere.

[X-Brosengae [Cloene] (Linde)]

All of the grapes in the fields surrounding Bindier have been harvested. And the apples on the trees have started to ripen. Soon they will be the sweetest apples in all of Anuire. But now they are delightfully sweet with a hint of sourness.

Along the roads through Hontier and Cloene there is a chance to come across young men in Brosen uniforms practicing along side elder more experienced soldiers. All of them happy to see travelers, welcoming them and asking for news about the crusade.

It is the second day in the second week of the second month of fall. And the day of the meeting in Bindier is only three days away.

Count Cloene is in Bindier to greet his guests, show them around Caer Binder or the surrounding lands if there is a wish for that.

The Baron and Baroness of Coeranys will regrettably not be able to attend in person.  Baron William Deaulen is consumed with the crusade effort in the east, leaving the Baroness Alleandre Cariele to rule Coeranys while he is away.

Symon Larkwood (a noble in the court of Coeranys) does arrive as a part of the Osoerdian envoy with Countess Vanadaere to represent Coeranian interests. 

It is understood that due to limited space of the Brosen court, Symon may not be seated within the inner circle of the court session proper, but he is available and interested in stepping in, should any last minute vacancies materialize.
