OOC: I'm posting this here, in the hopes that it will give a slight insight into the intricacies of the campaign stage. Basically the player(s) are given a few choices as to how they will use their troops for the coming few war moves.
OOC/IC: Since I’m getting little input I’m making this simple for you;
Pick one of the following:
1. Send all (or most) of the cavalry to Coere to find and destroy the enemy. This will tie up the cavalry; buy will be most effective in dealing with the enemy.
2. Send only some cavalry, most outriders, to screen the enemy. It won’t defeat them, but will prevent them from delaying the infantry’s advance AND will leave the rest of the cavalry free to do other things.
3. Completely ignore the enemy; he’s not blocking your advance (Coere isn’t on you axis of advance), just delaying movement. This risks cutting supply lines to Moere; but its not really a problem, as you can ship supplies from Ciliene across the Maesil instead. You take some damage from skirmishing, but not much.
4. Accept the delay and move into Coere in force; though the enemy has a good position there, he’s also trapped (or as good as, as long as Avan keep his castle and garrison in Daulton Active). Smaller groups might escape, but an army can’t cross the Seamists and retain cohesion.
As additional options you can decide:
a) To send any excess cavalry ahead to join Avan and/or Zoest.
b) Have the infantry force-march to reach the battlefield sooner; it might cause a bit of fatigue among the troops.
