Trust me, sometimes it's better to live in ignorance.

 Mhoried had armies from 10 different realms stomp across her virgin soil after the fall of the Mhor. I believe around 10 major battles was fought in about 2-3 years worth of time. Countless people fell.

 But obviously, what good would all this suffering do, if someone didn't pick up the pieces at some point

As it befits the usurpers, Tuornen would certainly come in after Alamie.
