Anyone interested in doing a tutorial DO?
« on: February 14, 2011, 04:49:04 PM »
As the headline says, I think we need a tutorial DO, something where every action and every aspect of the DO has been filled out.

Is any of you interested in doing one? Or maybe just placing one of your previous DO's at the community's disposal as an example?
You'll of course be expected to change certain pieces of top secret information ;)

I'd do it myself, but I'm lazy and only have DO's from the days of old...

I'm working this weekend and will need something to do to stop my brain dribbling out my ears from sheer boredom.

So if no one has done it by then I'll do it.

How about updating the old Roesone sample DO?

Hmm, I did one for the Gorgon, but that was not using the current DO sheet.  Also it may not have been <entirely> accurate.  ;)

I'm freeing up work-wise so I could have a go this weekend although I'm not the best rules-wise.  Doing Roesone - or a smaller realm - would be a good idea as it would both be easier, and permit more humour and less protectionism.

if necessary I can make public my #67 Alamie's DO.

I think its my best DO and it has no particulary secret clues.

Thanks Marco, but it looks like we have a couple of contenders who'd like to try their hand at a fake DO :)

That sounds like an excellent idea, maybe not the Gorgon though  ;D

And if we have more than one tutorial DO made by different players, it will give more insight into how the thing is done.
I'll have a look at how to insert notes into the excell format, so I can place small explanatory tags in the tutorial DO.

Going to 'Insert' and selecting 'comment' should work fine as long as you don't have much to say.  Otherwise blue text in a small font works fairly well.

OK, no Gorgons.  Figuring out how to spend all that income was tough anyway.

I'd actually been thinking about doing a PDF set of instructions + screenshots + humorous commentary to go along with the spreadsheet.

Weekends are very very boring for me at work so I'll have 20 hrs to fill with something.
