After this, I'd willingly do penance all my days if I got out alive...

..but you have to give it to Maire...she's come up with a very creative plan...a plan D) the DM hadn't anticipated. That isn't necessarily a good thing, but it does earn creativity points.

Libor are you really prepared to carry this through? To me it seems the longer the dead are abused the worse it gets - both our survival chances and the immortal souls of our characters (well mostly Maires)

Speaking theologically, it would appear that these poor souls were trapped in the Shadow World when Masela died, and have suffered throughout the centuries since, one could therefore argue that Marie is giving them a chance to win Nesirie's favour and be granted eternal rest in her kingdom.  Alternatively the Queen of heaven and mistress of the quiet (as opposed to unquiet) dead may find Maire's disturbing them a tad hasty.

So the question on my mind, is the Red Wind, master of Undeath, and immortal champion of Azrai a) going to be scared of a bunch of sailors he killed centuries ago, or b) smile and say 'new recruits...'

People are dying to find out in both senses of the phrase....

I will carry it trough but Im not sure how exactly it will end. It got out of hands somewhat  :-[  Hopefully all PCs will survive and dead will find their final rest. But Maire is pretty close to writing her off, I fear.  :-\

Well your last IC message leaves me wondering, what are you talking about?
I think you might have a great idea, but you need to elaborate more on it. Who needs to focus what where? That sort of thing.

I think she it trying to tear a hole in the Veil.

Man the Baron of Serien is gonna be PISSED

Baron Zenneth - So Governor how did things go.

Governor Vamuel - Not well, got ambushed by Gnolls and stuck in the shadow world for a time - but we did learn some important information and managed to foil an assassination attempt against your spymaster and the regents got back alive.

Baron Zenneth - Well at least it ended well then.

Governor Vamuel - Yeah well go to go - Oh! I forgot, we also ripped a permanent hold into the Shadow World and let thousand of shambling undead into your realm.  Anyway drop me a line next time your in Seaward!"

Baron Zenneth - Wait - WHAT??!!!

Every man has a price he will willingly accept, even for what he hoped never to sell.

lol!

Actually that is exactly what would make sense from her actions but I cannot find out how that works along with how ETN is; at least not what I know of ETN.

My understanding is, she's trying to release the negative energy of the undead, their suffering and unhappiness, at a point, with the twin intentions of freeing them from undead-ness and weakening the Veil at that location to permit passage.  This assumes two things: First, that doing so will "free" the souls, and second (possibly more important) that she can then control that energy, contain it, and dissipate it afterwards without it hurting anyone.

Oh, also that channeling all that energy won't have unfortunate repercussions on her own soul in the process.

Moreso where they allready undead before Maire began working them? If not this is utterly evil act - at least as I perceive it but I got a feeling Libor don't intend his character to act evil.

Well let's see what Libor thinks of.
It's definitely not ordinary priestly magic to create several thousands of undead. That's the equal of a realm spell.
