Personally, I am more curious to know what Rhoube is trying to find on Cael Corwynn, since it is evident (and has been since day one) that he has absolutely no interest in the island.

He probably had no interest in the Erebannian either.

At first I thought he was going for the White Tower and then, when he went to Cael Corwynn, I was thinking...if it wasn't in the tower, does it have something to do with the Lich?

Sometimes you go on an adventure yourself.  And sometimes you send an AA.  And sometimes you make sure you've said your goodbyes when that AA leaves.

I don't think it is so clear. If he has no interest in the island then why he bothered to usurp Aelvenking's domain and transport military units there? (I still don't know how he did it, but they are there) He would be acting pretty insane if he has no interest there.

oh, let's not forget, this Rhoube we talk about. The term Insane would not be useful. And as to how, again let us not forget, it's Rhoube we talk about. He was in one wood, then in the next, numbers, distance, time, these human terms has no real meaning or relevance in the realm of ancient Sidhe magic.

For all we know, he did all of this just to lure someone specific out to fight him somewhere he had prepared for the battle.  Thus, he would have established himself on Caelcorwynn so as to have an Ancient Forest under his control near enough to Anuire for people to easily come out and attack him in (whereas the Erebannien wouldn't be 'his' to the same degree).  Then he would have attacked Aerenwe just to make enough noise to attract - say - Braedonnal Tuare out to fight him.  Now he's fighting on his own turf instead of trying to kill the guy back in the midst of his own lands and people.

Or perhaps he's testing the resolve of the Anuireans, or the degree to which the Wardens would accept/reject his creed.  Or he's trying to secure control of a certain number of Ancient Forest provinces.  Or maybe he was just bored and wanted visitors.  It's tough to say.  One key to remember is that he's simply not afraid of us in the slightest.  In his mind, I doubt there's any element of personal risk to any of this.  He could be doing it just on a lark.
