It may feel like you have a steep learning curve, but most of the vets are willing to help out - although its a good idea to pick one geographically a fair way away as otherwise they can get conflicted in their advice - none of us would survive the intricacies of the Alan vs Alan intrigue war...
My advice, don't try to learn it all at once,; pull a chimp if you aren't sure of something and want the other person to be gentle; and do a variety of actions in your DO, that way when Jon laughs maniacally and proclaims dooom! provides calm, well thought out corrections, you are set up to repeat them correctly in future turns.
