Backstory:
Maegon Solemnys is born 182 years ago on hive-world Macharia, Cadian Sector, Segmentum Obscurus. Macharia is now a dead world, destroyed during the 13th Black Crusade. Maegon saw that coming but there was nothing that he could do. His destiny was elsewhere.
The Inquisitor belongs to the Faction of the Ocularians, among the strangest and most unfathomable agents of the Ordos, united not simply by doctrine but by obsession: knowledge of the future, predictions and omens, patterns of events, divinations and destiny, and above all, in keeping their own secrets.
In his quest to know the unknowable, Maegon studied the arts of Aetheromancy, Lithomancy, Onomatomancy, Spatalamancy and his favorites - Oniromancy and Taromancy. He's also a skilled Telepath, able to influence the decisions of his interlocutors, but not powerful enough to take full control of their minds.
Knowledge of what is to come is a perilous thing, slippery and treacherous even in the hands of those wise and experienced enough to understand its implications. No mortal mind can fully predict all the outcomes and consequences of the actions they may take in pursuit of some prediction that may be no more that twisted lies. Worse than the danger to an Ocularian’s sanity their path entails, is the slow corruption of their soul, slow corrosion by the whispers from Warp, slow damnation by the Dark Powers.
Decades before the 13th Black Crusade, Maegon was already listening to the whispers of Kairos Fateweaver, Oracle of Tzeentch, the Architect of Fate. However, the Inquisitor never managed to learn the true name and real motivations of this psychic entity.
Even if Kairos was banished back to the Realm of Chaos during the 13th Black Crusade, his numerous servants are continuing his work of desolation in the material world, believing to be working toward their own goals.
Maegon is one of them.

Arrival on Cadia:
Before 999.M41, Inquisitor Maegon Solemnys was sent to Cadia to take part to the defense of Mankind against the 13th Black Crusade.
Instead, guided by his dreams of power, Maegon did all his possible to precipitate the Imperial downfall, whispering lies to the IG Officers in their dreams, killing his peers of the Inquisition by treacherous methods, blinding the Astopaths thanks to unholy powers and providing valuable information to the Chaos Fleet.
In 016.M42, Maegon is still alive, guided by madness, nightmares and whispers from the Empyrean. His mind is sharp but his body has been weakened by exposure to Chaos. Except four members of his inquisitorial retinue and a squad of stormtroopers, all his followers are dead. Maegon managed to convince two squads of Imperial Guards and almost fifty civilians to join him. The Inquisitor and his band are well equipped, but desperately running out of resources.
In appearance, Maegon seems to be an Inquisitor willing to fight until his last breath for the Golden Throne, worn out by years of struggle. Deep inside, he is an elusive wildcard. He aims to gain more power, while trying not to lose his individuality. He knows to be tainted by Chaos but keeps thinking that redemption is still possible.
