Right there he betrays his peasant spirit; he should be honored that a real noble would deign to speak to him...common-born provincial guilder filth that he is.

Hmm, I was referring to a neighbour, isn't the guv'nor descended from an appointed guy (presumably noble at the time) rather than the last man standing at voting time?

There are some angry shouts in return, mostly having to do with sinners being forgiven...Drago Tanar, Marya Tanar, the Warlock, the list goes on...

At which point a calm and detached Ser Ryence remarks in the general direction of the shouters, that maybe the reason there continues to be so much trouble with sinners, is exactly that - that the list of those forgiven for their horrid deeds goes on and on, showing everyone how lenient and forgiving Anuire has become.

Ser Ryence seems to fit the bill for IHH's Knights: The pinnacle of the old Anuirean way of the knight, living in the past, unable to see that the rest of the world has abandoned nobility, honor, and chivalry. Perhaps added a bit of arrogance  ;)

It's not arrogance. That's just how people talk in Avanil - the haughtier you are, the more important you have to be :P
