A famous (possible) ancestor
« on: September 25, 2008, 10:51:44 PM »
While reading for a paper I'm delivering at a conference tomorrow I sumbled on an interesting entry (well, interesting to me that is ;D)

Apparently there was a member of my "clan," so to speak, since I can't possibly trace or even claim direct descent, in the 17th century, in 1660 to be precise, who was the "Herald of his August Majesty, Emperor Leopolod I of Habsburg." His name was Lorenzo de Churelichz and he was from the province of Istria, where my dad is from too and the last name is the same, although spelled a bit differently.

It seems I've found the ancient Dosiere of my family ;D

Edit: Sorry to bother you with this but its not something one finds every day and it has such a wonderful parallel with Birthright
