...any semi-civilized person should take the time to read it; or better yet hear it.

A great speech, at least I think so!

Wanted to delete post but could not ???

Our president is very eloquent.
The first half of the pseech was phenomenal.

I wonder, what part or word did you not like?
Not to move this game or gathering into a discussion that is not for us to have.
As a note. Norway has 678 soldiers in Afghanistan of 5 million inhabitants. Making Norway a good contributor to the effort. Also Norway offer more money relative to BNP then any other NATO member.

I must say. It is not my place to judge or question the elected president of a nation I am not a member of.
Know that I have the greatest respect for opposition to any democratic leader and would se it an honour to ever stand to claim their right to oppose.

He has very skilled people writing for him + He's very eloquent = Amazingly good speeches.
Not saying I'm a fan, but you can't deny that the speech is very well written AND executed.

Speeches are nice, but I don't think this particular Noble Prize should be awarded for speeches and ideas. Nobel Prize suffered another loss of value in my eyes when I heard Obama will receive it, but I guess no one important really cares about that. ::)
-
I suppose it depends.
Perhaps he will earn it. The man is very young afterall.
-
In my perception he is darn close.
If Obama succeeds in getting Iran to stop developing nukes without waging war he has earned it!

Honestly, I think he agrees with you. It was offered less to honor his work than to make a point and to try to encourage certain attitudes/beliefs in America, which isn't really how it's supposed to work. Obama even acknowledged in his speech that he hasn't done nearly as much as other recipients. Hopefully, he'll try to live up to it now that he's been awarded it.

Moral blackmail. Thats what it is.
If he does right he; "earned it".
If he messes up he; "brought shame to an institution".
All for a good cause. Of course. :)
That said, its a good speech. I'm very pleased with the new CiC of the big American Empire. ;)
It could be so much worse.
