: State Religion

I was just wondering whether there was a prescribed or expected set of rights or benefits that flowed from being the state faith in a landed realm.  I looked through the Regent Guide and didn't see anything.

What I'm getting at, is if a temple is declared the state faith in a realm what concessions is it expected the landed ruler might make and what benefits might they receive from the temple?  Likewise, what, if any, benefits and concessions is it likely the temple will make/receive?

Or is it a case of there being little or no expectations or conventions, and the players decide themselves?

Just curious really, being new to RoE. :)

The exact benefits/obligations etc. are subject to diplomacy - there are no set rules. At the very minimum the state faith is expected to perform all investiture ceremonies and to at least occasionally bless some provinces.

Ask Alan how the relationship between state and state church it should be. Roesone and IHH cooperated so nicely, and the IHH did it's duties not only willingly, but with great pleasure even!

Right Alan?  ;D

Poor Rune -- he couldn't understand how my ideas and needs were so much more important than his own :)
