: Heat wave in Norway
: X-Tuornen/LF (Geir) June 26, 2009, 09:51:44 AM
I can inform the forum that there is a heat wave in Norway now. Temp is in the 30's (90's) with high humidety. Of consern one can add that the avarage Viking is known to get grumpy at work with reduced tolerans levels in this kind of weather.

Another reason for the average viking to get grumpy at work is that so many of his collegues suddenly decided to take a vacation day while he slaves away in an overly heated office  >:(

I need a cold beer and some proper meat!

Even get your ass over here, I need a drinking buddy!

As previosuly discussed on these forums, shame you are lacking the proper beer! And in a heat wave you want cider over ice anyway!  :D

We're not lacking proper beer, if you're willing to pay for it! But yeh, as previously mentioned the stuff coming out of taps in norwegian pubs is only good for one thing - peeing it out again.

For the norwegians here I really recommend trying out the many different beers from Nøgne Ø. The imperial stout is my favorite so far, with the amber and IPA coming close. Also went on a hillbilly-trip to Sweden some weekends ago, and got me some Innis & Gunn (and a lot of other beers). Very nice beer, just sucks I have to go to Sweden to buy it  :P

Well, there is an aspiring one right here! :)
(although I am in Switzerland right now - country of chocolate, cheese and truly crap beer)

PS. Gotta love these chains... Norwegians go to Sweden for beer, and Swedes go to Denmark (and Danes to Germany??)  ;)

This Viking is quite happy in the heat, seeing as he's not at work...but rather lounging like a lizard on some hot rocks all day before heading for the local water-hole in the evening...

104 F here yesterday, expected to be higher today.  But in my part of California, it's not uncommon to hit 100 during the summer months, so I guess that does not count as a heat wave... But it does make me happy that we have a swimming pool!

Two years ago, at my daughter's 8th birthday party, it was 117F!!!  Now that's a heat wave!!!

I'm happy to host!  though I think it might be pretty damn expensive for most of you guys to travel over here!  San Francisco is nearby, and for wine lovers, the Napa valley is a "10".  For computer geeks, Silicon Valley is about an hour away, as are the beaches.  Lake Tahoe is about 2-3 hours away, that's also a "10".  Just say the word!  :)

Lol, well, I've been circling going over to the states for years now. Let me know if people want to get serious about it, maybe next summer?

After all, ROE2 will take 3 real life years to complete.  ;D

It might be cheap, but their control-posts are a bitch. I mean, last time I went, I had my collection of pretty rocks with me, and some guy behind the desk went totally nuts, almost like I was a terrorrist or something... I mean, how much trouble can a *rock* cause? Really?

(Mark is going to hear for that one for some time to come...  ::))

Yeah, but they ruin luggage all the time.  Last time I took them, it looked like someone had been beating on my suitcase with a free-floating cloud of jagged obsidian, and someone animated half my shirts.  They nearly strangled me when I opened the suitcase.  And the folks on the complaint line just began laughing maniacally and hung up when I tried to get a refund.

Its the other way around... the the lack of Faith and rampant pollution that is the cause. The ancient blessings and protections have dissipated and dissolved in front of the barrage of anti-divine and anti-arcane beliefs spreading among the people.

Armageddon is imminent! Repent ye Sinners!!  ;D

P.S. In the coming floods, I'm moving to Norway btw. I'll stake out some old mine and plot my scheme for world domination.
