Just a quick question before DO completion.
Can someone use effort in a subaction, and take 10 in another subaction of the same realm action?
For example, let us assume that I wish to rule holdings (same type) in provinces X, Y, using a realm action. In province X I wish to take 10, however in province Y I have to use effort to improve my chances (DDC > 10). Can I do that?
I assume not, but I had to ask :)

From page 66 of the Regent guide:
Taking 10 or 20: You may take 10 on realm actions, but you may not take 20.

OoC:
If I am not mistaken, the use of influence on a rule holding action in one province does not preclude "Taking 10" on a rule holding action in an other province . . . even if the two rule holding actions are part of the same realm action.

I don't see any reason why not. Conceptually, each is a separate action. Since we have to spend GB/RP separately on each, I don't see why one couldn't be a Take 10 and another use influence.

Yes I can see your point. I assume that it is acceptable. After all taking 10 does not grant you with a tremendous advantage (in contrast to taking 20).

Quite right.
