Why did I make this?
Because it IMO made no sense that A) Anuire was settled by exactly 12 groups 500 years before Deismaar AND B) Got made into the very same power blocks by Roele after Deismaar.
It just plain lame.
In RoE there were 5 major groups (HOUSES) that settled Cerilia:
The first House of the Andu was Aenwé (the House of Haelyn and Roele), who settled first on the coast (near modern-day IC) and later along the lower reaches of the River Maesil (Avanil, Maesil part of Diemed etc.)
The second House of the Andu was Boru, who sailed west into the Sea of Storms and settled along the coast and rivers of the West Coast.
The third House of the Andu was Caethran, who settled along the shores of the Gulf of Coreanys and along the Berendor River.
The fourth House of the Andu was Adethan (including the Elamie and the Mhora), who followed the Maesil to its sources and settled along the rivers and highlands they found there.
The fifth, and last, was House Deretha, who initially settled along the South Coast, but later penetrated into the Heartlands.

So, the lands known as "12 duchies" are in ROE2:
Diemed
Aerenwe - Ruled by the Swordwraiths. Aeren line though to be extinct, until a rumor surfaced that MC of the ETN has this lineage.
Avanil
Alamie
Mhoried
Boeruine
Taeghas - Long extinct line. Ruled by Aburae Avan.
Ghieste - Merged with Dhalaene to form Ghoere, now re-emerged. (disputed bloodline)
Dhalaene - Merged with Ghieste to form Ghoere. Now vanished. (or not in power)
Osoerde - Bloodline destroyed, then re-awakened by divine intervention and granted to William Osoer (name changed after event)
Elinie - Elin family turned to Azrai, Daouta destroyed them, rewarded with title by Emperor.
Cariele - Not called Duchy today, Scions distantly related to the line living in Coeranys (i.e. the current Baroness is of this line)
Talinie - Purchased title and lands.
So all of the above are the "duchies". Any comments on disputed bloodlines?

I always figured that it was a ret-con, the 12 houses Roele formed into power blocks were retrospectively deemed to have been the 12 great houses leading the exodus... heroes now as for generations sort of thing.
