Seriously? Also when Alan states "Secret" he could as well do it per mail but for the OOC amusement for those interested he post it in forum.
If that is how its going to work the Pontiff will quickly post something along "Archduke we better move to a secret and private location or Patriarch States omnipotent abilities for information gathering blow our lousy cover in but seconds"

We can't really do it any other way. If it is written in the forum, it's public knowledge. Obviously you're, as players, free to accept any rules or limitations set by other players, and thus "not know about the secret proceedings". But if it's in the forum, someone will have heard and gleefully passed the knowledge to everyone present.
The S&C is a massive undertaking, with servants, valets, squires, adjudants, soldiers and court aides all over the place. That is why you have private rooms to talk in, which can be done through e-mail.
If you want it secret, do it by e-mail.

I'll also respect other players making a thread and telling the threads content is secret (as an alternative to mail but more interesting to all of us).

This was the intention. The conversation is between Osoer and the Pontiff, but it is not intended to be 'secret' per se.
If I wanted that I would use dispatch/diplomacy and then an espionage action to hide it. :)
