OOC: I'm assuming that the Pontiff is calling upon Baron Enlien and the RCS to finish what was started last turn. For you plan to work you have to keep the Shadow Ward up; it was cast last turn, so its effective now. Perhaps the Countess of Ilien will join in as well. I don't know.
Conceptually this happens BEFORE you leave for the S&C, so try not to get killed ;D
Well if you prefer to be able to turn nasty on us we can wait to do it after the S&C. If not you can allways maim us and we can assume we where carried around during S&C with no arms or legs left ::)
-
As a sidenote (and perhaps something to take somewhere else): How does the miss-chance of a wraith translate into Birthright? Do they phase into the shadowworld, and if so can one assume, that with a shadowward spell in place, they are unable to phase and thus miss (hehe) their miss-chance?
-
Since there was a bit of confusion about the adventure in the main thread, I want to note that Baron Bellamie will be participating.
-
Seems the Sword Mage play hard to get. I'll try to work around it hoping for her assistance. Else we have to use Thorstens trick and deny the Wraiths the mis-chance :D
-
Dammit! Didn't anyone think to cast "Protection from Ceilings" before the fight???
-
Kasper -- why not use magic to determine if they are ok? Then look for another way to aid them?
-
What magic do I have that can help in that regard?
-
Check out this link for a complete list of the standard cleric D&D spells and other stuff:

Is a good website.

Thx :-)
Howabout stoneshape?
-
LOL! This adventure is very revealing... Wish I was there ;D

Thx :-)
Howabout stoneshape?
Don't mind their fixation with petty rules; its Ok if you just assume that Wallac and heal and protect, as well as invoke Haelyn's name for aid in battle, and to call upon his wisdom (learn things by magic; as in the divination spell).
-
I'm honestly not sure how to reply. What with being under 400 lbs. of rocks and no one having cast Protection from Architecture on me beforehand. If you need something from me, Bjorn, pop me an email and let me know what I should be thinking of.
Edit: Sorry, missed the PM. Responded.
-
OOC: You're frre to continue talking; but as far as the DM is concerned the adventure has ended - an astounding success.
Isn't it great that the DM also gets to enjoy the game ;D
There's no highlander style light show when a blooded regent dies in RoE?
-
A success but the death of the Iron Rider
-
A success but the death of the Iron Rider
True for some.. For others its just success ;) I'm a bit sad though that my first, albeit "shortplayed", character has passed away.
-
I was not aware you played IR in the old game.
I believe that the passing of the IR also is not good for harvey since IR was Osoerdes court mage
-
Whoa, there is a lvl 5 source in Spiritsend whose owner is not... available...
-
He will be annoyed, I bet. I am not sure he knows -- let me see if he is in his office...
This should be fun... :D
-
This isn't my fault! I didn't invite Vimorean! Make sure he knows this isn't my fault!
....I'm gonna get tossed in prison.

:P So much for inviting YOU to the funeral!
Truth be told, Arvour probably is at least conflicted by this, I'd imagine. National conflicts aside, the IR was a pretty upstanding guy, and devoted to a lot of the same causes as you. An enemy, but hopefully at least a deeply respected one. Now, if TRISTAN had gone down instead, I'm guessing there'd be a national holiday declared and festivals in the streets. But that's because you're a nasty, vindictive grudge-holder with poor personal hygiene. ;)
-
Actually, he just shook his head and said.
"I think Bjorn is having too much fun."
-
LMAO -- he is in a meeting right now and sent me the following email.
"Actually, I think Osoerde is in the middle of a shit-storm and lacking any possibility for a raincoat.
Wanna go buy me some boots?"
-

I played IR way back, for a few turns only before I had to withdraw due to RL constraints. The character I played for a long time was Robhan Khaiaren of the Haelyn's Aegis.

You misunderstand me. I wasn't implying that Arvour considers it a success. You're right, the Iron Rider was a decent guy and most likely one of the most respected by Arvour as far as mages are concerned.
If Tristan had gone down I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be celebrating.... that would be no fun at all. We don't want thieves and backstabbers with no honor to their name to die a heroic death fighting the undead, do we now? ;)
-
No... You'll just marry them... ::) ;D
-

To date there hasn't been; but then again no True blooded awnie has been stabbed in the heart either...actually I'm not keen on the idea as a general rule, but it might have a place under certain circumstances.
-
Vimoerean dead.
Nice.
-
Nice.
That's a rather weird reaction :D

Hmm, I thought Bjorn describing a character death as an 'outstanding success' as a bit weird myself, or rather, given I'm on an adventure, deeply disturbing. What are the odds we find his iron horse now?
-
Hopefully, those odds are very, very, very, very, very, very, very low. Since said horse is, to the best of my knowledge, hauling Undead Raenech the Extremely Frightening around these days.
Come to think of it, add some more "very"'s in there.
-
Personally, I'd rather not see anything remotely resembling that Iron Horse, or any other iron horse, for that matter.
As a small side note to that (from Wikipedia):
Iron horse may refer to:
A train or locomotive
Iron Horse, a worldwide network of FLR-9 antennas used for SIGINT purposes during the Cold War
"The Iron Horse", a nickname for Lou Gehrig, the baseball player
The Iron Horse (film), a silent movie from 1924, directed by John Ford
"The Iron Horse (TV series)", a 1960s TV show.
Iron Horse (band), an American bluegrass band
The Iron Horse (Scottish band), a Scottish Celtic music band.
Iron Horse Bicycles, a bicycle manufacturer based in Islandia, New York
Iron Horse (poem), by Allen Ginsberg
Iron Horse, California, a community in the United States
Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon, California
Iron Horse Night Club, a bar in Edmonton, Alberta
Iron Horse Energy Services an oilfeild services company based in Medicine Hat, Alberta
Iron Horse State Park, a rail trail in Washington
Which of these is Raenech riding on? :D
-
Actually, one might even suspect that the death of Iron Rider might prompt the Iron Charger to come looking for his former boss, bringing his current boss with him ;D
That would decrease the number of "verys" considerably, wouldn't you say?
-
Bah humbug! Its all a hoax!
The Iron Rider can't just die! - He is cleverly using magic tricks to cover his real agenda... And I think I know what it is. ;D

Animated Lou Gehrig. I think he's a mummy.

Come on people...have you no sense of heroics? You get to die fighting the undead? All glory to Haelyn and all that. I just realized that you're not very pious people...not goo, not good.

The IR gave his mount to Undead Raenech after the demon vs undead battle in the Five Peaks; so you could send the Iron King a stern letter and demand it returned...

Hmm, given the 'death by tons of masonry' part, the IR may well be goo... But, of course, as a wizard he can't possibly be good, although dying heroically in the service of Haelyn does go some degree to proving he accepts repenting sinners.
-
Or IR is not dead at all and its all faking and the dead body not his :o
-
IR will be placed in our Grand Cathedral and escorted back by an honor guard. Wallac would like to see what can be done for him. Can raise dead be used in RoE?
Perhaps deal with this in mail with Bjørn
Raise dead can be used; though only within 1 day/level of the deceased. Its primary use is bring back someone who just died in battle. After a few hours it is generally frowned upon - why would you wish to return to the living a hero called to sit beside Haelyn? And would the soul of the deceased want to come back? Most likely not.
The most famous return-from-the dead incident is Archduke William; Armiendin resurrected him quite a while after his death. First time that has happened in living memory.
I went ahead and posted in the Bard for the return to Osoerde. If you actually do succeed in restoring him, obviously I'll take that down, but I don't personally expect it. Honestly, I don't think Vimorean had a lot to come back to here.
-
Nah, due to bjørns post concerning the matter I've decided not to bother. Let the IR mage rest

... And may I point out, what a great image that post gave? Brilliant!
-
Indeed that was a fine tale you told Bobby :)
-
OOC: Call in the holy inquistion to investigate the Countess of Ilien; surely she must be possed :D

I'm so glad this one is in the OOC thread. ;D - Resist your urges Kasper!
-
OOC I am possitively in no position to follow any of my own wishes for the time being.
But in this case the Countess actually dont mess with me - I am just the messenger but that will not be my problem I guess.
However I'll shed no tears when the Countess get herself deeper and deeper into trouble ::)
Btw. IHH is not the temple in CoT in charge of inquisitors. Guess what temple is ;-)
