Most people have a style they tend to default to. What kind of character do you usually play in your games most often?
-
I get physically ill when trying to detonate the atombomb in Megaton (Fallout 3).
I would venture that my alignment is more like True Righteous than anything else. I just have an overdeveloped sense of Right and Wrong - to the point where I might believe the law faulty and unfair.
-
Justice and Good - that's me in a nutshell!
-
Neutral Good or Neutral Evil. Interestingly online I tend to go with NE and in tabletop tend to default to NG. Not sure why...
-
Generally something evil, although thats primarily because my tabletop group plays games where inter-group scheming is supported and rewarded (ala. Vampire the Masquerade or L5R).
The LN of the CJS has been interesting. Trying to work my head around it has been different.

IS this the thread where all the players say they would never lie, and certainly never betray any of their fellow players?!?

Only those that are chaotic and/or evil! We LG types never lie!
-
I find that I tend to go for Neutral Good, the kind and behaved champion of good. If there is need for violence it is because it is for the best for the world on a wider basis. Even enemies needs care and positive guidance, enemies especially needs guidance.

Difficulty in being evil in person, I would wager. Not uncommon, I would think. ;)
-
I also have an overinflated sense of right vs. wrong.
Additionally, I believe in the value of gov't and of laws, though I feel no need to accept a unjust law.
-
My Torment character is true neutral despite many evil acts... I must do something good too.
My allignment in campains depend on the setting... Pragmatic selfish being a sure winner if it is compatible.
-
I generally play good characters, I find evil depressing and neutrality boring.
On the law vs chaos axis then my style depends on how these are interpreted. On a strict "law = adherence to the written word" interpretation then I'd be NG/CG, on a "law = community before self" interpretation then I'd probably be LG in most games.
-
Chaotic good most of the times with some tendencies to CN. 8)

:D Any takers on this one?

Gods, the Lord of the Rings-movies suddenly make so much more sense. Here I thought Frodo where undergoing some internal conflicts and feeling the influence of Sauron, all of which caused the ring he wore to become an increasingly heavy burden... when in reality he's just getting more and more depressed the longer he holds it.
Also: It's not healing magic the elves employ to cleanse evil wounds - it's Prozac!
Edit: Frodo, facing the Evil Ring of Depression +5

Evil depresses me as it generally reminds me of school/the office, all pathetic point scoring and put-downs by people too shallow to value anything but their own agenda and too weak to cheer another's success. :(
Frodo is just a bit limp really, Sam's the real hero of the book ;D
-
If the context is given that the party should be a force for good, then thats what I adhere to. - If given completely free reign, I try to maintain group coherency, but the rest of the world... beware. :-)
-
I always play Lawful Good, I'm just so misunderstood! ::)
