: The wedding comment - in the real world
: X-Ghieste & HOT/GH (Matt) June 09, 2010, 03:13:18 PM
Okay, in relation to the comment made on the BBQ thread...

Steph and I are getting married (hopefully) on the 16th October in the pretty church in our village. We have now been together 8 years and have our 2 children and decided it made sense to tie the knot at last.

I am currently assuming, for purposes of the invite list, that most of you would be unable to make it :)

Joy and tribulations! Congratulations!

 I would if I could, but I can't :)
Where in the world are you hosting it anyway?

Congratulations Matt!

While it would be great to come over and celebrate, it would be difficult to find the time I'm afraid. My vacation days this year are spent organizing my own wedding which is due in 4 weeks (and relaxing a bit afterwards).

I am not that far from Suffolk at the moment but I do not have the slightest clue where I will be after next September!

I hereby summon forth the powers of Necromancy and raise up this post from the catacombs of the decomposing, up from the abyss into which all forum posts are doomed to descend. Not this one! Nay, by my will, RISE!!

(Just so I don't forget about it) :-)

Congratulations to Matt on his wedding  ;D it is always good to talk to a man who plans his DO while at his own wedding.

Expect abrupt support from Ilien for the OIT after the Roman Catholic service clashed with Danish protestant dogma and was ruled wrong.  >:(

Some photo's of the crew are on flikr under my name andrew_tall;   http://www.flickr.com/photos/andrew_tall/sets/

Those wanting to scroll through the various blurry and overly dark photo's for more shots of Matt can look through the list 'Matt's wedding', those wanting to look at a much reduced list showing RoE members only should look at the set titled 'RoE at Matt's wedding'.

It Should be noted it was not a Roman catholic service but instead a High Anglican service and therefore in fact Protestant ;)

And thank you for coming guys - don't forget to deliver Even and Bjorn their presents!

I went to a wedding yesterday, symbolically drinking to your happiness at the same time :D

Cheers Jon

The signs on the wall promising vengeance and doom (a.k.a. the 10 commandments et al) were quite specific about obedience to the Roman Catholic Church.  Apologies for any offense given  :-[, the charge of heresy (one way or the other) stands, long live the inquisition...  :o

No offence, the sign on the wall will be from before the reformation, much of the church being 13th and 14th century :)

All men are equal before the God-Emperor...even those who have been burned by the Inquisition for their heretical ways. :P

A fine wedding indeed! - And I have the pictures to prove it.  :)

We came, we gave a silvered container for Champagne, and two bottles of same to put in it. One at a time, not both at once...

We forgot a card, but here the Interwebs come to our aid. Helene, Linde and I wish you and Steph all the best in your marriage!

Also, even though we did our best to annihilate the food, there were just too many of them. Both in number of dishes and amounts of each! - Thanks for a sumptuous meal.

I have the special packages for Bjørn and Even in safe custody. They will be delivered.  ;D

Definitely looking forward to inspecting those packages...

Its ok as long as you don't break more than 5 of the 10 commandments, right?

There was indeed good food in both quantity and quality, the only thing missing was a haribo stand.  Also the families were very welcoming, and the munchkins adorable albeit somewhat OD'd on sugar.  Hopefully some of the photo's brought that out, for those wondering the photo's of the food spread in the full list I linked to were snap-shots only, every time a plate on the table was emptied it was reloaded from the bottomless kitchen.

Which 5?  I routinely break 2, 3,  & 4.  I'm probably innocent of 1, but purely on a technicality.  6, 7, 8, 9, are fairly easy for me to keep but 5 and 10 depend on your family and neighbours...
