: Indicating new posts
: X-ETN/Maire Cwyllmie (Libor) October 08, 2010, 02:04:27 PM
Sometimes, forum is telling me that there are new posts in Conclave of Temples. But when I look into, there are no new posts (last being still from 2010-10-02). Does anyone expirience similar behaviour?

I might just be guessing, but perhaps there are boards even *you* can't see (I imagine our DM's need to communicate somehow too) ::)

Me 3, and if they need boards for the 2 of them why would they hide it in the CoT.

To confuse the temples?

Perhaps it is a hidden forum for the temples in COT not plotting against the pontiff?

Yes. It might be. Since everyone in CoT is plotting against all others, it is visible solely to Pontiff. Or maybe even he doesn't see it. He may plot against himself too  :D

Did those not seeing CoT subforum expirience similar behaviour in Courts of Anuire?

Perhaps because the CoT is the only IC-active part of the forum, and thus needs to keep track of a lot of stuff that other parts of the forum doesn't?

No - but the difference there is that the CoT is a sub-forum that you need special access to, while what you describe might be a hidden thread in that sub-forum hidden for all but the DM's... at least that is how I can explain it purely by guesswork. :P

Silly players who come up with crazy ideas like the DM's having secret forums end up like the boy who cried wolf. EATEN ALIVE!

You do not talk about Fight Club.

You do not talk about Fight Club.

But I wasn't talking about the Conclave?

The new post indicator sticks around if, for example, there are new posts on page 3 of a thread, and you go to page 1 of it,then click forward to page three.  The post indicator goes away when you go straight from the main page to the page with the new posts on it.  A weird quirk I've noticed.
