A not elite units maximum level is Crack (15 XP). Can it still aquire XP? Like getting to be Crack level with 16 XP? The difference it makes is if going to reserve it may loose one xp but having 16 xp to start with it stays a Crack unit

Kasper, my experience is that XP beyond the cap is not tracked - it probably should be though for the very reason you say.
On the other hand, the cap isn't neccessarily always enforced to the letter. There are a number of circumstances I can think of where the cap is ignored.

I really like the idea of not enforcing it strict to the letter along Epic level being something a unit only gain under extraordinary circumstances and seldom at that

I guess I have a good chance to find out since I have two Dragoons at crack level, each with 15 XP, having fought during the Manethander adventure so if they come back with more than 15 XP I know for sure and if not... Well I guess they wont go into reserve anytime soon anyway ::)

Once a unit reaches it's maximum XP level it no longer gains any more XP.

Kasper, troops can reach legendary, or theoretically epic level - XP 28. Some of your peers consider 'elite/crack' and 'just about fit for battle' to be almost synonymous. ::)

Oh? Good thing than that my single unit of knights have no more than 6 XP. I save a lot due to that :D
