RoE General => The Herald (DM announcements) => : DM B April 10, 2014, 09:35:40 AM

I've always known I would return to BIRTHRIGHT/Ruins of Empire.
I just wasn't sure when - or in what format...
Now I'm fairly sure of both :P
The plan is to start the process of putting together a game at some point in 2015 (so it's still a bit into the future, but not the very distant future).
The format will be a sort of 'back to basics'. We'll go back to the BR roots, to 551MR/1524HC and the South Coast/Heartlands/Eastern Marches of Anuire. It will not be a small game, but neither will it be a mega-game featuring all of Anuire. I intend to set the backdrop, but players will be more heavily involved customizing their domains and adding material than was the case in earlier RoE games. It will use the newest incarnation of the RoE rule-set (not yet published); except streamlining of the rules and simplification of the turn process. There will be interaction, but the game will also focus on making those turns tick.
More information will be released as we go.

By then, I will probably have gained the title of "Senior Lurker" ;D
Good stuff.

Good stuff.
Seems you already did! :D
-
Awesome!
I call dibs on the Western Isles if they are in play.
-
Good news indeed.
-
Good news....really.... ;)
-
HURRAY!
-
Good news. :)
-
Well, it's good to hear about your plans.
Thank you for taking a break so that I could move, start law school, and finish in between RoE turns. :D
I look forward to playing once again.
...no dibs. :P
-
Haha, funny you Garth! :)
-
SWEET! I can't wait! :)
-
Well Greg, that's the problem, you HAVE to wait! :D
-
Regarding dibs: There will be none. All players will start out at an equal footing once we get to handing out domains.
-
Bjorn, is it alright if we revert to our original accounts?
-
Sure, I see no problem with that. There is something of an interregnum now, so it doesn't really matter which accounts you use.
-
Sounds like a splendid idea. As long as there is some way for me to access this website during work hours...

Quit you day job and dedicate your life to gaming. You know you want to...

Fair enough.
Harumph! First no Ruideside and now no dibs...grumble, grumble, moan, groan, complain...
-
Count me in for something when it starts.
-
Only 237 days left until 2015. DM B should better hurry up ;D

December 31 2015 would also be "at some point in 2015. " So B has plenty of time.
-
I do!

:o Desperately wants to join !
For anybody looking for a game in the meantime, there is lots of room in Zaidan.
Particularly for guild types.
-
Intriguing.... :)

Update:
I've begun working on the Regent Guide again. That's important, because having an up-to-date RG is a requirement if I'm to launch RoE 1524.
Currently working in the income/tax system to iron out some flaws that have been there since 1ed RoE. Overall income will go down (on the other hand there is somewhat less stuff to use money on), province level will be more important, as will actual control of holdings (law is somewhat less powerful). Also expect to see fewer landed micro-domains (they have a place in small, local games, but not on the larger scene), freeing up manors to be ruled by larger domains.
-
Cool!
I look forward to seeing it. Let me know if you need any help with proofreading or anything.

Does this signal that vassals and vassalage will be less important? Should we still expect that a landed domain will still largely composed of vassal domains through perhaps a little more hidden?
-
There will still be some vassal domains, but expect there to be fewer of them. Some of them might be quite powerful, but as a general rule the sovereign will directly control more of his lands (but not all).
There are presumably a vast number of minor vassals etc. From provincial counts and down, that don't have the power to warrant an appearance in the P&H.

And now the clock really ticks ;D
Happy new year everyone.
-
It is just like the new Nike shoes. 11 and a half months plus a few days before the deadline.
-
*cough*
:-)
-
:)
-
Any news on progress, or anything anybody can do to help?
-
Shush. Leave the dead things to be dead. There was some bad experience of opposite approach :)
-
Whaaat...are you still watching this forum!? :D
I haven't really spent much time on BR for the past couple of years. I think about it sometimes, but nothing concrete has come up.
