In vanilla BR it's possible for the owner of the holding contested to use his RP's to reduce the chance of success of this opponent.

I didn't find any references of it in Regent Guide.

is this rule  not used in roeII?

Thanks

sorry,

don't consider my previous post.

I've found by myself the reference at p.77 of the Regent Guide

Page 77 is a list of actions?

In the DO there is an area called defensive and offensive pool.
There you can place RP and GB's to be used in case of opposed rolls.

The defensive pool is used for protecting your realm. The offensive is for supporting your actions if they're opposed.

Include specifics if you wish, otherwise we'll just use them generically. See p. 63-64

ok thanks,

I also  was wondering what were the meanings of those two areas ;)

so, for example, if i didn't place any RP/GB in defensive purse and someone is going to contest one holding of mine I will not able to lower his chance of success...am I right?

Yep.

Note that it's a well known and popular pastime to send in several versions of your DO. You're welcome to resend your DO after the deadline.

My record was five. I believe the resident record in RoE I reached 6 versions turned in. ::)

Only for minor edits though, right? You can't start a war and when you hear rumors of the war going badly, you decide to do a diplomacy instead and resend your DO. Or talk with a fellow player on msn or something and change your DO based on what you hear (if the fellow player has a big mouth, like me for instance  :-X).

In my opinion players should only be allowed to change their DO if they have discovered blatant errors in it, the deadline is there for a reason. But that's up to the DM's I guess  ;D

If I recall correctly I've already sent my Do to you and Bjorn 3 times   :)

As a DM in another game told me, thanks for the revised DO Andy, just so you know, I'm lost and your generals are worse - I figure pick 'n' mix actions are ok after 2 revisions...

Thankfully only one army marched the wrong way and the random selection of actions turned out funny even if not particularly effective, confuse/bore/annoy the DM and suffer the consequences...

How do I designate a pool to counter general interference by people I do not want to see active in my domain?

I mean, if a goblin temple is trying to Rule Temple in Sutren Hills, they are not attacking any of my holdings, so the defensive pool is not triggered.

At the same time, I am not trying to rule temple there, so my offensive pool is not triggered either.

But I've damn well got an interest in not letting them succeed!  :)

I've created a third pool called "Interference" and will be designating in my DO how and when this pool triggers. Will that be acceptable?

Using your GB/RP defensive pools.

You simply can note that your pools (or a specific amount in them) is for a specific purpose.

Like Alan said, provide a list of priorities for what you'd like to see your pools and purses used for, e.g. use defensive pool to resist contest actions against your holdings, otherwise prevent other people's rule law. Or it might be that you're very concerned about on particular action, and only want the pool used for that, e.g. support rule action in province xxx only.

What both Alan and Even are implying is that offensive/defensive purse(pools can be used, EVEN IF NONE OF YOUR HOLDINGS ARE AFFECTED.

So you CAN specify that Elinie's Defensive Pool will be sued to counter any goblin attempt at rule temple.

OK!  ;D

I'll kill the interference pool then, and define for the defensive pool.

Thank you for the replies.

RP/GB not used are returned to the player.
