: The long wait is over.....
: X-Ilien & PCE/GeM (Linde) April 19, 2009, 09:23:09 PM
Steps into a wide open space that was once a forum. Looks around hoping to see anything, but is only met with insignificant shades of white and blue. Blinks a couple of times and tries to find something to focus on. But there is nothing.

Then I make a post and finally there is activity on the forum agian ^_^

I suddenly feel an uncontrollable urge to post something here.
Weird.   :)

I think the silence of the members is due to the waitinf for the end of the DOs processing ;)

 With bated breath in fact.

lets just try to stay calm, don’t do anything that could disturb the DO processing, there is no need to panic, the next turn will get out when it’s all done and ready, just stay calm :-)

The important thing is not to post while trembling with anticipation.

Rage in silence. Go kill a neighbor or eat something threatened by extinction. Anything to keep going without the DO... just one more day at a time.  ;D

young guys are seen all around the world screaming and tearing apart their hair...
A distinguished doctor has stated <it's just the unfamous "Do's waiting" plague>

I find it easier to wait knowing that I don't wait alone. Good to hear from you all ^_^

Should not be long now.

S&C turns are always a bit long.  The sheer amount of text to wade through is immense, and it's easy for a player to have wound up doing 2-3 times as many full actions as usual thanks to all those free Diplomacies, which translates directly into work for the DMs.  Future turns, being neither the first turn nor the S&C, will probably go faster.

Of course, then we hit the first turn out of the grace period.  Which could be long simply because it'll take a while for the DMs to make it through all the carnage ;)

As I am sure is well know among all herin, and most likely have been mentioned innumerable times well before I was remotely aware of this existence, and is such a common fact that to speak of it in any length is but a waste of moments better spent, but I say it in passing, for the shear amusement and for lack of other small talk. A processed turn is never late, nor is it ever early, for it will always arrive at the precise moment it was intended to arrive.

It's all in the works... We've suffered a setback due to Bjørn's injury and I'm still learning the art of actually processing a DO, so a week more is probably a good bet, maybe more depending on Bjørn's recovery.

A full week or one of those tiny weeks where half the days are sorta not there?  ;D

Oh well, might aswell just work then.  :)

Well, considering that I had no problems running 5 miles at a good pace earlier today I think we can say that the back is OK. It not too keen on sitting hunched before the PC though...

Acupuncture people...who needs magical healing when you have those little needles?

It’s the puncture part I am sceptical to.

I agree!

The greatest trick the devil ever made was convincing people that needles weren't evil.

Thankfully there are still people who know the truth ^_^

But it is good to know that even the devil works on getting the DO's done. I just hope it doesn't mean that all of my actions are doomed to fail...

Acupuncture and even Massage are all kinda wierd to me...

They work -- but they damage the body in order to heal.

a heal spell cast by an haelenite priest is better
: Re: The long wait is over.....
: X-Tuornen/LF (Geir) April 23, 2009, 04:45:51 PM
I would go for a heal spell cast by just about anybody. Maybe a contract on services rendered could be wise, also it could be good to check if any cost would be covered by the state. I am not sure magical healing goes under rules for state cover/reimbursement. You should get your regular doctor to write a prescription first of all. And as there is a state churches here in Norway it could be good to have a priest in on this too as state cover is much better than trying to get the reimbursement after. After a Heal spell then who could even prove you where sick before the spell was cast? Could get bad, state cover is much better than reimbursement.
But a Heal spell would give you a really good feeling after, knowing that just about any kind of bad thing was gone, even things you didn't know about.

BTW: Do Heal fix a hole in a tooth?
: Re: The long wait is over.....
: X-Elinie/RiD (Niels) April 24, 2009, 12:31:01 AM
Well, I'd say yes, if the tooth is still mostly intact.

If the tooth is dead, then it would likely be rejected and simply fall out.

Regeneration would replace teeth and so on, Heal just fixes the parts of you that might be damaged, but are still part of the "living" you.

And the description of Heal makes it somewhat profound... If cast on the average person, you would probably lenghten their lives considerably, just from killing off any errant cancer cells and removing clogs from veins, tuning the heart and resetting the liver to mint condition etc.

Lingering or chronic infections in lungs, joints or other places. Poof.

A whole life's worth of bad habits made good, just like that.

We might be far off from emulating Regeneration, but Heal, damn, we've got a ways to go.

I have joined the pain club. A transit van drove into the back of my car this morning and now I am having problems using my right arm. Doctor says whiplash/muscle spasm. Lots of painkillers for the next 48 hours.

Ok, guys, ease off all that Shadowy Realm Magic tossing, it’s having RL effects on fellow players.  Stick to Bless and nice stuff like that please will you.

Great to read that you are getting better Bjørn. And don't have a relapse.
Seriously, and am very sure all players agree on this, we can wait.

Speak for yourself.  I, for one, am getting extremely tired of having my entertainment delayed just so Bjorn can avoid long-term physical damage and potential chronic pain.  Can we please a get a sense of priorities around here, people?
