... :-/ I love the AAs, and the adventures too!
-
Well yes, but I think we have to consider the overheads that long discussions of this type create and the level of granularity that they can add to the game - too much for what should be more strategic and over-arcing in nature.
I can see that movement of this kind will significantly smooth the game flow, even though I am a major user of dispatches...
-
Maybe a Solomon solution would have been to have kept the old rules on AAs, but forbidden any pointless and will draining debates or DM directed questions on the subject.
I.E. There's a clear rule on how you get an AA.. you put it in your action, you describe the guy/girl and if you fail, you fail. (and you shouldn't be able to invest lots of RPs to get a level 20 wizard, without requiring the DM to provide you with a plausible solution).
P.S. I can't vote on the polls because I, too, love my dispatches, 2 player short novels, and my IC slugfest but not enough to burden the game with it if that's the effect it has.

now you can :-)
....if I only had found that "edit poll" function on that last election for parliament...well, next year then.

AA were wonderful....

Must be a coincidence; we have been working our DM's really hard ::)
You dont joke with the real important stuff like RoE etc.
Could as well rob a bank and call aprilsfool when apprehended by the authorities ;D
-
Nothing ;D
Well spoken comrade!
-
I've never been entirely clear what it is about becoming the DM that leads inevitably to seeking your enjoyment at the players' expense. I ran my last game for less than two complete sessions before introducing them to a wise olld kindly wizard who began
sending them to kill his rivals guiding them on their heroic path.
They didn't find it as funny as I did when they got arrested in session 10 for multiple counts of murder.
-
LMAO. Bjorn = Funny.
-
Sorry, I just can stop laughing :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
-
Good, now I can continue with my IC romantic slugfest ;D
Oh, maybe next April Arvour dumps ser Estevan into a concrete foundation of the new royal comedian academy of Caercas? 8)

Ah yesss, now where in this mighty fantasy is the person who'll do the actual pushing that leads to the dumping?
-
Oh, we learn from experience, we Roesoneans..
It will be three hundred royal armsmen with tower shields and giant clubs that do the pushing that leads to thedumping.
"All against one, one against all" we call the op ;)
-
Ah yes, but there are no longer any AA's and you have no skills - so no tower shield use and no relevant abilities! ;)
-
Well well, I almost thought I would have to cave in... But Matt to the rescue.
Yes, since we'll no longer be doing adventures, your only possible way out is to declare war on the Green Knight and use war moves to get him.

Who but the tame Pontiff?
Convincing Ser Estevan doing a little mudbath as part of his therapy; Unfortunately the "mud" turns out to be a little more!
-

They're not AAs, they're assets, military assets, units that remain in use after today's rule change.
And yes, they've no giant clubs, but they retain their shields and swords... tough luck for ser Estevan. They won't be able to use subdual damage.
-

Yes, since we'll no longer be doing adventures, your only possible way out is to declare war on the Green Knight and use war moves to get him.
That means I'll have to activate 4 units to cut off all means of escape.. .Doable ;D

Hokay, his legendary knights make mincemeat out of your units and force them to retreat. What now?
Meanwhile the Pontiff is unsuccesful in trying to convince the Green Knight to jump in a hole. That's one diplomacy action gone.
-
I would just get seven people to send dispatches to him - then he'd be in real trouble!
-
I surrender! Your long-windedness has gotten the better of me...mercy! :-* :-* :-*
-
Or so you'd think, IF NOT for his amazing ability of ILLITERACY!!!! Dun DUN DUUUN! :-X
-

Perhaps you mean "literacy"? :)
-
No, if he was litterate, then he could read the dispatches. But since he's illiterate, the dispatches bounce off like sound arguments off a politician.
-
I think you will find that they render unto him paper cuts! We merely need to pour lemon juice over him to defeat him!
-
It's ok - Matt and I can handle him with Espionage actions. What with all that extra RP we'll have coming in, we should be fine.

"The horror! The horror!"
