: Which is better, my Galaxy S II or Matt's iPhony?

The subject says it all...

LMAO.  A poll with effectively three identical options...

Why are you hating on the iPhone?

It's nothing to do with the iPhone, it's all about Matt. You hear that Matt!? There is no escaping me...

Oh, ok. In that case, and despite owning and iPhone, I will jump on this bandwagon.

It is my lovely iphone 4. I have had 6 or 7 iphones now as I have upgraded model and have ever paid for one. I have developed app's for iphone and android. I have had an android phone. I had various windows mobile phones. My iphone pwns them all.

The ease of use of apps, the quality of the apps, the diversity of use and application. The build quality. All are incredible.

Sadly it uses itunes. That is the biggest flaw in the design.

But it still beats an android phone into a cocked hat though.

iTunes is an iPhone killer. I am not replacing my iP4 with another i product. I'm done with that shit.

I have never been so connected, I have never gotten so much out of a phone before, but my next phone will not be an iPhone.

Also, I wan't Flash and I want instant upload to G+!

I want the ability to click a file and Then choose what to do with it, instead of having to choose what to Do and Then find the file within that App.

I want better connectivity, at work my iPhone is always in the weak end and we all have the same work provider.

Other than that, I want a phone that is exactly like my iPhone except not being an iPhone. - Much like G+ is not Facebook and therefore better.

Instant upload is very hand.
iTunes SUCKO! Why would I pay AGAIn for music I already OWN?????
Not having Flash...I'm at a loss for words.

I have to ask (I might be ignorant here) but how does iTunes force you to pay again for music you already own?

Because its EVIL - it sucks out your soul and leaves you an empty husk That's why!

Try turning off auto update for iTunes. Oh, right, you can't!

Try turning off, permanently, that you do not want the Safari browser or the other shit Apple want you to install on a semi-daily basis. You can't!

Try moving songs From your phone back to iTunes. You can't!

And it continues all the way down to how the cursor does not behave like in other windows programs and how the settings you look for are only visible in the specific sub-area of a sub-area. - They do not want their users changing settings.

Sounds like you bought a car with automatic gearing and then insist it acts as manual gearing. Apple has had this kind of policy for quite some time now.

Different people has different preferences I guess, and the new android phones do seem very good, so I'm sure you'll be happy when it's time for a change  :)

So I used to work in this field. It might show in places.

Okay, the problem with Android.

The phones are not upto it - Most phones running android cannot. They crash, they stutter, they are unresponsive to use command. They suck. They simply do not have the power to handle the OS, same problem that windows mobiles used to have. The constant improvements in the OS create a continually changing target for the requirements too, leaving hardware constantly struggling to chase software.

The phones are too variable - A major issue is that the hardware is SO variable. The Galaxy S II is a good phone, having learnt from the travesty of the previous model, but the difference in user experience between the various devices leaves so many users struggling to follow a consistent journey in the use of their handset. Bad, bad, bad.

Google is not good - I loved google. They swore to "do no evil". They have betrayed their roots. I still love lots of their products; google mail, docs, plus, etc., but most of their EULA's and T&C's are just as bad as anyone elses in the business. Yes their business model is about "open source" and the such like but that is because what they sell is your data, who you are, what you do and how you do it. Hidden nasty. Iron fist in velvet glove.

But I HAVE the Galaxy S II...which is lighting fast and very smoothly stable. No point ranting about models past...or I'll start comparing the iPhone 1 :)

You don't even have to go back that far to find that iPhones don't have disk mode. 32GB flash storage, but not able to copy a file to it while connected to your computer?!?  :o

- My iPhone 4 takes time to “think” now and then too. Apps routinely crash. I have not had an Android yet, but if it is much worse I would have heard more people complain.

The phones are too variable - A major issue is that the hardware is SO variable. The Galaxy S II is a good phone, having learnt from the travesty of the previous model, but the difference in user experience between the various devices leaves so many users struggling to follow a consistent journey in the use of their handset. - I agree, but that does not mean that there are Android phones who offer a good user experience. It just makes them harder to find in the mass of options.

- Google does not sell “You”, they sell anonymous statistical data. If they have access to more, you your self have explicitly checked off that they may collect that. Check your “Dashboard”.

The only thing I can take from your post is that you do not like Android or even Google... Duly noted. But if, by your own words, Google is “as bad” and not “worse”, then where is there left to go but Google, when I feel Apple is distinctly “worse” and that MS’s option is just flat out behind on points. :-)
