: Marital strife?
: X-Haelyn's Aegis/RK (Andy) August 05, 2009, 10:21:03 PM
Bjorn quoth:
Countess Geraldine el-Mesir has declared that Ilien will no longer be ruled by Diemed.

She claims that Archduke Diem has failed in his duties as a liege, and that she therefore cannot remain his vassal. The IHH supports the Countess claim.

Shortly thereafter massive riots break out in Ilien, forcing the Countess to close the gates and institute marital law.

Marital law?  What are they doing down there in the 'free' city?  Just how 'free' was it?  More to the point what is she doing with the Pontiff now he's got himself loosened up?

sorry, typo's afflict us all, but I found this one very funny...

Marital Law:

"Everyone have to remain in the gates and marry within two days."

I can only assume it is an effort to raise the level of the province. ;) ;D

Why do Diemed's problems all seem to relate to marital issues one way or another?  :D

Hah!  We had something very close to that in our tabletop game.  When we ran into Osoerde, Raenech's provinces were all much higher than they 'should' have been.  When we started Espionaging the kingdom, the DM informed us that, among other things, Raenech had passed laws requiring the folks in the border provinces to house his soldiers... and giving those soldiers legal right to demand conjugal visits with the ladies of the household.  The products of which unions went into what amounted to state-run orphanages.  He'd spent the past 20 years (the timeline of this game varied in places from standard) breeding his province levels up.

Note it is IHH's Bishop in Ilien, Arvon Dravur, that talked with the countess - not the Pontiff. The Pontiff have wisely avoided Ilien  :D

It is a typo?

Darn, and here I thought that I would finally be able to secure myself a husband... ::)

Be careful with throwing phrases like that around, Alex got some very strange looks on the train when he was over here and we were talking about the game...  ;D
