I'm heading down to Copenhagen on the 20th of October...the first two days will be mostly work-related...but I'm considering staying for a day or two longer, provided some of you are available for consumption of fine beverages and general merriment. It would also help my finances if there is a bed/couch/hammock I can crash on, starting on the 22nd...I won't die if there isn't, but cash is better spent on food and drink than on hotels.
-
Your Grace would be welcome at my humble abode. :)
I'm back from England the 17th, so its should be no problem to have you there. You can have your own room and all.
And I'd be surprised if we couldn't rustle up the Danish crew for a fun evening or two. ;D
-
Sounds very excellente. I will probably need some recreation by then. Not that my colleagues aren't fun...just not Danish gamers fun :P
-
I should manage to be available :)
-
I don't even know what I'm doing tomorrow. Much less what's happening october 20th. But I'm always willing to sip to a beer or two in good company. ;)
-
I wonder, if i start work in time, if I can arrange to honeymoon in Copenhagen.....
-
Crashing at my place is also an option, though Niels have more space and a more central location. Lemme know if it becomes relevant.
-
Just booked my flight to CPH with the infamous Cimber-Sterling. Get all women and children indoors, there will be two Sørgjerds in town! 8)
I guess this would be a fitting celebration of the RoE anniversary.
Cheers,
E
-
I'm not sure Copenhagen is adequately prepared to fend of *two* Sørgjerds. Much less two drinking ones. I vote we get all of Copenhagen indoors instead.
-
Yesss!!
I have the plans for the Dome of Megacity On... err... Copenhagen all ready and prepared.
I do have one piece of information though... My dear brother has been left homeless and is currently residing in the chambers designated to hold our noble DM!
There is still plenty of room and contingencies to hold a number of sleeping guests, but not in the splendor originally described. :)
No worries though, I will have arranged an adequate sleeping area when the time comes. (if you are staying days, the couch will become somewhat uncomfortable I bet...)
I'm thinking the rather large two part dining table can be converted to two sleeping cabins with enclosed sides. It'll be like tenting, just softer and with less rain and bugs. ;D
-
Update:
I'll be arriving in Copenhagen on Wednesday 20th and staying until Sunday 24th.
For a work-related seminar. We'll be staying at DGI Byens Hotel - http://www.dgi-byen.dk/dgi-byens_hotel/beliggenhed/
Not sure how much time I'll have to play around before Friday - but after that it would be cool to meet up and grab a few beers (or whatever).
Even is also coming down on Friday - not sure WHEN exactly, just that its on Friday (he probably told me, but I've totally forgotten).
I've also gotten a rather good hotel deal for the weekend. Same hotel. Guess they felt sorry for me being banished to Niels couch :P (no offense to your couch Niels). Seriously - I'm too old to be crashing on couches. I need my creature comforts and I've got the credit cards to prove it! 8)
-
I arrive really early on Friday, and leave even earlier on Monday. Probably staying with one of my co-workers, in deepest darkest Nørrebro. No plans so far for Friday, other than wandering around town and probably dropping by our office to say hi.
-
Hehe, no hard feelings! - But I insist we find a time to meet for a few brews or something. :-)
-
:-) oh do rub it in for the rest of us!
-
I leave for Copenhagen soon. I will have net access from my mobile, but I'm not bringing my own PC, so don't expect any RoE related activity before Monday.
In case any danish-looking people need to get in touch with me --> my phone number can be found in the Shadow World.
-
So if anyone is up for a few beers on Friday...

So if anyone is up for a few beers on Friday...
Sure 8)
-
Of course. I rely on the native Copenhageners to guide everybody to a decent place of imbibing, and will gladly plant myself there for an evening or two.
Edit: The Red Wind is buying, no? ::)
-
I'm pretty certain I'm in, though also pretty certain I'll be completely beat from working all day outdoors...
-
Excellente.
PS! Have forwarded invitation to Mr. Wind.
-
We need to establish a rallying point. Until a new one can be suggested, how about www.hviidsvinstue.dk?
I can be there about 18:00 or maybe a bit before.
Its very central and its a historic location, being the oldest still functioning drinking establishment in Copenhagen. Combining drinking with sightseeing, ain't I clever? :)
-
So, are you guys going to come by Hviids Vinstue? :)
-
It works for me.
I'm in southern Jutland and will be going to Cph tomorrow, so I might arrive a bit later than 18.00 - but I'll just text you guys to make sure where you are, if the need arises.
-
Can do, I won't be home before seven, so will probably be able to join at eight o' clock.
-
I'm being told that Hviid's Vinstue is in the expensive end of the spectrum. We are likely to move on to for example;
The Moose
and some kind of eatery too I suspect. - Make sure you have the phone numbers to Linde and me, so we don't lose anyone who wanted to find us.
-
Im having a good time thus far. Currently in a small pub named retro. So where are you guys meeting?
-
Suggested eating:
Halifax II, burger place, supreme burgers.

Bjørns location in link above!
EDITED: Place closer to Bjørns current location.
Bjørn, please remain seated, we are coming to you. :-)
-
Thanks for a great evening. We have to do this again sometime when I don't have to get up early for work the following day.
Goodnight
-
Success!
If you guys want to meet for dinner tomorrow, just leave a message. :-)
-
Bach home now...can I come back sometime soon? ;D
-
Not if you intend to do anything as crazy as bike for an entire day... then we don't want your kind :P
Thanks for the visit. Good times!
-
I promise not to do any sightseeing next time - just beers and fun. Ok?
Turns out that you're pretty cool people in real life!

Thanks and ditto! - That was really quite amusing. :-)
Next time, we'll have to come by Københavner Cafeen on a monday or tuesday. They serve fried bacon and parsley sauce then. This is a special danish treat that is definitively worth a try. :-)
-
Yeah, that would be nice - not impossible for me to drop by another time. Once in a while there are really cheap plane tickets from Trondheim to Copenhagen. So we'll see.
Cafeen was pretty nice in that it had something genuinely Danish - save the fries maybe :)

I made it back as well, although only to work and not home yet. :(
Next time there will definitely be more sightseeing, and a lot less beer and fun for me. These bones are too old for late night clubbing.
Was well worth it though, and hope to see you all in Edinburgh next time 8)
