IF you do use an aa for an advisor action, the aa acts in support of said action and may give a bonus or penalty to the DAC (depending on how knowledgeable the character is on the subject).

When using an advisor do I have to spend a court action as well? The ply trade advisor only helps the court advisor action?

That I obviously did but found not the answer (I quoted the top post).

So I dont have to use an AA to take an advisor action. That much I think I get.

But can I do an advisor action with only an AA? Meaning not spending a court action?

Functionally, the Advisor action represent knowledge immediately available to your domain, which doesn't require significant research into the matter.

If an AA initates the action, they are effectively using an Adventure Action to support the action.

Every realm gets 1 free Advisor action per turn.  All other Advisor actions require 1 court action.

Indeed (only it's called ply trade: advizor, since it involves no sword and sorcery, but a lot of posing and pretending to be wise and learned).

But the concept is the same; AA using personal effort (character action) to support another domain action.

You CAN of course ask the DMs OOC questions about the world if you thin that is something your regent would know, but Advisors represents detailed IC knowledge of the world not necessarily know to your regent before you take the action.
