: Realm action: Taking 20 and effort
: X-Elinie/RiD (Niels) July 28, 2009, 08:59:11 PM
Hello

If you Take 20 on an action, and someone uses influence to affect the result, is the die then rolled, or still set to 20?

As in, target number to suceed is 16, so Regent 1 blows all three regent actions to Take 20.

Regent 2 is affected, or has a pool that will auto-influence due to scripting, and he spends 3GB from his pool.

Now, is the die rolled against a target number of 19, and the two regent actions paid for Take 20 wasted?

Or is the die set to 20 and still succeed, as the target number is still lower than 20?

Just trying to figure out if Take 20 is worth anything in any situation with people using influence.

Take 20 stays 20 despite any influence used. Yes, you can even use influence yourself if you know the DDC is 21 or higher.

Thanks!

On page 77 of the Regent Guide, it says: "When taking 20, using influence does not force you to make a dice roll."

I just couldn't find it.  ::)
