How about including a small vasal as a PC for Mieres? Serien comes to mind  ::)

Serien is effectively siting at the edge of the world, which isn't very conductive for player interaction. Players invariably focus outwards towards the blank spaces...become boring very quickly. So Serien and Mhistecai stay NPC...for now at least (but both are interesting domains).
