I'm a huge Excel fan, and I was actually contemplating making an Excel DO before we started playing. Unfortunately the INSANE amount of work required for other things meant it had to be dropped.

Hmm, an excel version would make x-ref's very easy - you could put each section on a separate page, or keep all the tables on page 1 and link to a different action on each page for fluff...

And of course pasting the P&H province line into another spreadsheet would be simple and help the DMs see who might be interested in your action.

I've dabbled in excel for ages, but am well behind most of you I'd guess - it took me a good day to figure out the P&H formula's.  So I'd be very interested in an excel DO.

I may play with revising the DO tables in word, ideally you'd get all the income and expense in one table, I thought it had to be pretty fixed so that Bjorn & Jon could find things quickly, but if it's open season...

A question - there was a fair number of the actions that I did not know the DCs for, diplomacy actions. I hope you guys are large enough to not let us hurt ourselves with influence - if we could take 10 already.

Not a big issue in my case, I really need to boost that court expenditure (should have done it last turn, ended up spending enough gold on diplomacy that I could have boosted my court to... 9 GB :P).

On that note, is court expenditure one of those actions that take effect immediately? Like when you change status of units?

Your court cannot exceed your capital province level, in your case 5.

Excerpt from pg 91. Regent's Guide:

"Set Court expenditure

You change your court expenditure.

Difficulty: DDC 5 + new expenditure

Check: On successful check court expenditure changes to match the new level."

So since a check is needed, the effect takes place in the next turn.

And it too, takes effect the following turn. I.E. you retrieve your unit on reserve the turn after you've issued the order.

Oops, in the specific case of reserve - active/garrison the post says the same thing as Robert. However, the change from active to garrison (or vice versa) is instantaneous... Which sets a precedent that some actions are instantaneous. I see nothing in the action description that implies it isn't, especially since before the action you used to be able to change it every turn.

Not arguing one way or the other really, just looking for a clarification.

I have an excel sheet for my DO mapping which is great.

I considered coding in all the action desciptions and what not into the DO as well.

So we got the war for some, and some I'm sure will welcome a respite before 63, but the rest of us that don't have a life?

Do the DMs have time for me to continue my adventure maybe?

Hmm, I expect that they are even busier than usual with DOs, email mountains and the like.  And didn't you kill all the orogs already? ???

I still feel I was promised an excel sheet!  ;D

Someone needs to post links to their stuff so we can start poking at it and make completely unwarrated complaints that this and that is not satisfactory!

Its the only way we can create ROE the Spreadsheet Game!  :)

Seriously though, post linkys to your shit! Er, sheet!

This is the sheet in compatibility mode. I am not sure whether it works properly. I cannot post the one I am  working on, due to size limitations. However I can email it to anyone who wants it (~141kb.)

Enjoy!
