Taxation
« on: December 13, 2008, 11:00:23 PM »
Taxation changes slightly for RoE II; Law holdings were making too much money from law collection. We're looking at a 10% drop - so Heavy would yield 40% instead of 50%.

I am assuming that all taxation levels under Heavy will get reduced by 10%.

While in principle, I agree -- law holders were making too much income.  Most of this seemed to be a function of law holders controlling substanial law in their realms -- you have greatly diluted this -- most regents at the start do not control more than 50% of law within their realm.  In the cases were they do,  they are combo realms.

Reduction in tax levels benefits non-landed realms solely, which is fine, but it seems to be a significant boon to all the combo realms (as long as they have holdings outside the area they have law holdings).

So it largely seems to help out or at least not 'harm' most combo realms and guilds (primarily because they have two holding types that they are getting income from).

Things will need to be reworked in the P&H I think...

For instance...

All straight law holders lose out:

Elinie goes from 27.9 GB to 22.7 GB
Coeranys goes 21.9 GB to 19.2 GB
Roesone goes from 46.3 GB to 40.5 GB
Osoerde goes from 70.3 GB to 64.5 GB

Combo Realms do well, particular Law/Guild domains.
Ilien goes from 49.1 GB to 50.4 GB
Ghieste goes from 68.2 GB to 73.1 GB
Mieres goes from 53.1 GB to 51.5 GB
Medoere goes from 30.6 GB to 28.2 GB

Guilds make out like bandits:

MS goes from 43 GB to 49 GB
SASI goes from 42.9 GB to 48.1 GB

Temples also get marginal benefit, not as substanial as guilds (most gaining 1-2.5 GB).

Anyone with law is penalized

Anyone with other holdings gains; guilds gain double, since they generally control double the number of holdings (guild +  trade).

Before law made too much money and holding too little, now that has changed slightly

Landed rulers had too much income and didn't rely sufficiently upon their vassals, I hope to change that slighty
