Hi,

As you've probably noticed we got hacked!

This was what met me on Sunday when I logged in:

Unfortunately I didn't have time to fix it before I left on a 3-day trip, but now I'm back and the forum is back up. It took me all of 1/2 hour...but the good thing is that I finally found time to upgrade the forum DB :)

Anyway, all they did was replace the settings.php file, so nothing was lost or anything. I just had to restore the file's contents and we were back up. I'm of course thankful they didn't do any more damage, but the whole thing leaves me at a loss. Why would they want to take out the WWW's smallest forum???

Because they have L33t 5|<i11z, man.

Honestly, they probably spent a day or so playing lather-rinse-repeat with a whole chain of forums/sites.  Once they established how to get in and set up their message, they just went at it to leave their tag as many places as they could.  It's the sort of thing that makes them so lovable.  At least they didn't actually destroy anything.

They took this forum out because they don't have the skills to take out the better protected forums. Did you take a look at their page before fixing the problem? They made it in Frontend :)
